Below are adult dosages and directions for taking:
Herpes simplex
Take 500 mg twice a day with water or lukewarm water.
Shingles/Blisters
Take 1000 mg 3 times a day with water or lukewarm water.
Inhibition of recurrence of genital herpes
Take 500 mg once a day with water or lukewarm water.
Additionally, HIV-infected patients should take 500 mg twice a day.
